“Under the Volcano” Book Jacket

When creating this book jacket, I chose to illustrate two volcanoes—Popocatepetl and Iztaccihuat—located in the small town of Quauhnahuac, Mexico, which is the setting of this story. The title is manipulated to look like the smoke that surrounds the volcanoes, and the subheads are in a typeface that compliments the visual elements found in Mexican art.
